Oxygen and Respiratory Care

The Critical Need for Oxygen

Every year, preventable deaths happen in maternity wards, newborn units, and operating theaters because they don’t have access to oxygen therapy. In low-resource areas, many health facilities lack the infrastructure, equipment, and trained staff needed to provide this life-saving treatment. CPHD is working to change that by helping these facilities build safe and sustainable oxygen systems from the ground up

Our Comprehensive Approach

Infrastructure Development

We install oxygen piping in critical areas like maternity, newborn, and surgical units. This creates the foundation for reliable oxygen delivery throughout the facility.

Equipment Provision

We provide necessary equipment such as oxygen concentrators, cylinders, and monitoring devices. Our team also offers on-site biomedical support to maintain equipment.

Clinical treaining

A key part of our work is training clinical teams to safely and effectively use oxygen, especially for conditions requiring neonatal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), which is crucial for newborn survival.

The Oxygen Bundle Solution

To ensure long-term access, we developed the Oxygen Bundle. Instead of one-time capital costs, this model allows facilities to pay a monthly fee. This fee covers everything needed for continuous oxygen access, including cylinder refills, equipment maintenance, and ongoing support. This treats oxygen like a service, ensuring facilities have what they need when they need it.

Innovating for Greater Impact

We also pilot innovative solutions like cryotanks for bedside liquid oxygen. This provides a high-capacity option for facilities where traditional piped or cylinder systems are not enough.

This innovation brings high-flow oxygen directly to underserved patients, ensuring they receive the care they need. Our liquid oxygen systems can serve multiple patients simultaneously and last for weeks without refills, making them ideal for remote locations.

By combining infrastructure improvements, specialized training, and innovative service delivery, CPHD is creating oxygen-ready facilities that save lives

For a mother needing an emergency C-section or a newborn in distress, access to timely oxygen is more than just a medical intervention, it's a critical part of resilient, people-centered healthcare
